A brutal knife attack took place in the city of Nice in France. The mayor of the city said: “One of the people killed inside the church was believed to be the church ward.”
A violent attack took place in France’s city of Nice on Thursday. Three people were murdered in a knife attack including a woman who was beheaded by the perpetrator. According to videos online, the suspect can be seen shooting in the church and according to some reports the suspect even yelled “Allahu Akbar” (God is the Greatest) during the attack. It is unclear as to why did the suspect do this.
The mayor of the city, Christian Estrosi, labelled the attack as a terrorist act. He took to twitter to narrate the whole situation. He said that the crime took place in a church close to Notre Dame and that the police have arrested the criminal. To the reporters he narrated: “One of the people killed inside the church was believed to be the church ward. The attacker kept shouting “Allahu Akbar” even after he had been detained. The suspected knife attacker was shot by police while being detained, he is on his way to hospital, he is alive.”

The mayor further on expressed, “Enough is enough. It’s time now for France to exonerate itself from the laws of peace in order to definitively wipe out Islamo-fascism from our territory”. The French President Emmanuel Macron said that France was attacked: “over our values, for our taste for freedom, for the ability on our soil to have freedom of belief. And I say it with lots of clarity again today: we will not give any ground.”
According to reuters.com, the criminal is as a 21-year-old Tunisian. The perpetrator has been identified as Brahim Aoussaoui who landed almost a month back in September and was quarantined on the Italian island of Lampedusa.
