Three underage sisters acid-attacked in their own house

Three dalit sisters were attacked with acid when they were sleeping in their house in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district.

The sisters were 17,12 and 8 years old and the eldest received injuries on her face and the rest two suffered minor injuries. The girls are currently stable, confirmed the Superintendent of police, Gonda. He also stated that the eldest suffered 30 per cent burn injuries, while the other two have 20 percent and 7 percent burn injuries. The siblings are admitted to the district hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

The ASP told media, “A case was registered at the Paraspur police station after an acid like chemical was thrown on three minor girls. In the police investigation it was found that a person Ashish aka Chotu is an accused.”

The ASP further told media that, The police launched a search for the accused and later that evening, a police team saw him arriving on a motorcycle. His bike slipped when he saw the police jeep and started to open fire at them. The police personal retaliated in self-defence during which the accused got injured. He was then arrested and sent to a hospital.

Doctors are investigating what chemical was used.
