After the building collapsed in the Patel compound area of the city, 20 people have been rescued and 11 injured. On Monday, the death toll rose to ten with five people rescued.
The building collapsed at around 3.40 am. Team of NDRF, fire brigade, and police are also working on the spot which are carrying out rescue operations. Dozens are still expected under the debris.

“Ten people have died, we have rescued 11 people alive,” an official at the Thane city said.
Reportedly, around 25 families were staying inside a three-story building which was 40 years old.

While Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared condolences with the familes along with many others, Maharashtra Government compensated with Rs 5 lakh.
