An Al Qaeda model was planning to execute terrorist activities in India. “Large quantity of incriminating materials, including digital devices, documents, jihadi literature, sharp weapons, country-made firearms, have been seized.” The NIA revealed.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has exposed a terrorist group operating from the states of West Bengal and Kerala. The group adhered to the directions of Al- Qaeda. Nine terrorists haven been arrested for planning terrorist attacks and killings under the tag of committing a ‘Jihad.” The (NIA) in its declaration revealed that they were found when the group was securing funds for purchasing weapons to help with their agenda. They were close to to finalising the deal. With a receipt of a major arms consignment from Delhi, the NIA added. The statement also further stated: “As per the preliminary investigation, these individuals were radicalised by Pakistan-based al-Qaeda terrorists on the social media and were motivated to undertake attacks at multiple places including the National Capital Region.”
They also added: “large quantity of incriminating materials, including digital devices, documents, jihadi literature, sharp weapons, country-made firearms, a locally fabricated body armour, articles and literature used for making home-made explosive devices have been seized from their possession.”
Further Investigation are being done on the terrorists.
Further investigations revealed that the individuals were part of low income family groups. They all belong to Murshidabad. Out of the 9, 7 them worked as daily wage workers, cooks, farmers, salesman, tailor and driver. They had plans of obliterating the government and security of India. The places of high interests were Delhi, Bihar and Bengaluru.
DIG Sonia Narang A spokesperson of the NIA expressed: “The module was actively indulging in fundraising and a few members of the gang were planning to travel to New Delhi to procure arms and ammunition. These arrests have pre-empted possible terrorist attacks in various parts of the country.” (Source: IndiaToday)

The Criminals have been identified as Murshid Hasan, Iyakub Biswas, Mosaraf Hossen (all from Ernakulam), and Najmus Sakib, Abu Sufiyan, Mainul Mondal, Leu Yean Ahmed, Al Mamun Kamal, and Atitur Rehman (from Murshidabad). (Source: TimesNowNews)
