On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated his 70th birthday. When asked what he wants as a gift, he asked people to keep wearing masks and take precaution to defeat coronavirus disease.
In his following tweet, he added, “Follow social distancing. Remember ‘Do Gaj Ki Doori.’ Avoid crowded spaces. Improve your immunity. Let us make our planet healthy.”
Receiving wishes from all over the country and world, PM Modi thanked everyone and tweeted, “These greetings give me strength to serve and work towards improving the lives of my fellow citizens.”
US President Donald Trump wished “Great leader and loyal friend” while Russia’s Vladimir Putin German Chancellor Angela Merkel wished him writing a letter to him.
PM Modi celebrated his birthday at Varanasi offering prayers to Kashi Vishwanath temple. He also interacted with ragpicker children at Varanasi.
However, another trend that went viral across different social media with netizens tweeting with hashtag #NationalUnemploymentDay. This was marked as a protest against against the high unemployment rate in India.

As per the National Statistical Office reports, in April-June quarter GDP contracted by 23.9%. The unemployed people are expected to grow as failing to find jobs but also several jobs are likely to lose.
