New Delhi: Charu Sinha, IPS officer of the 1996 batch Telangana cadre. This sector is one of the highly sensitive areas in Jammu Kasmir. Earlier She was appointed as IG in Jammu replacing Pramod Kumar Panday.
She has been also posted in Bihar to deal with Naxals. She handled several anti Naxals operations successfully there. Latter she relocated to Jammu where she also performed very well to maintain the peace in the city. Srinagar sector post started in 2005. She is the first female police officer who is appointed as IG. This sector is working on anti-terrorist activities with the Jammu police and Indian army.
The CRPF, country’s largest paramilitary force with about 3.25 lakh personnel, has positioned at least 65 battalions for law and order duties and undertaking specialist counter-terrorist operations in Kashmir.
An order issued by the CRPF headquarters on Monday posted nine other Inspectors General including 1997-batch IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre Deepak Ratan to head the Kashmir operations formation of the CRPF in the valley.
The paramilitary force added, “It includes 2 ranges, 22 executive units, and 3 Mahila companies. Apart from it, the Srinagar Sector has administrative control on Group Centre-Srinagar.”
Apart from this, 6 IPS officers and 4 senior cadre officers have also been transferred or inducted in CRPF. IPS officers Maheshwar Dayal (Jharkhand sector), PS Ranpise (Jammu sector), Raju Bhargava (Work) have been initiated into the CRPF.
