Sweden: At least 10 people were detained and several police officers injured during clashes in southern Sweden. It was after Anti-Muslim Danish politician was stopped from Koran-burning rally that riots began.
The March of 300 people was going on its way with peace but when a anti-Muslim Danish politician was stopped ,clashes started. These riots have created tensions among the citizens.
Campaigners threw stones at police and burned tyres on the streets of Malmo late Friday. Violence was rising till the evening, According to police and local media.
Between 10 and 20 protesters were arrested late Friday and released after some time. Some police officers have been slightly injured.
“Those who act like this have nothing to do with Islam,” Samir Muric, an imam, said on Facebook.
“It’s not right,” Malmo resident Shahid told the SVT public broadcaster. “But it wouldn’t have happened if they hadn’t burnt the Koran,” he added
Paludan’s entry has been banned for two years in Sweden. He has been arrested by police near Malmo. Malmo is the third-largest city in Sweden and around 40 per cent of its 320,000 residents have foreign roots.
Lawyer Paludan later set up a sarcastic message on Facebook. He is also active on YouTube. He is also spreading hatred due to his act.
“Sent back and banned from Sweden for two years. However, rapists and murderers are always welcome!” he wrote.
A group held an anti-Muslim demonstration Saturday during which one woman tore pages from the Koran and spat on it .This happened across the border in Norway.
Paludan has attracted media attention last year for burning a Koran wrapped in bacon meat that is an abomination for Muslims.
