CISF Takes Over Security of Statue of Iron Man of India

New Delhi: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Tuesday took over the security of the Statue of Unity at Kevadia which is situated in the Narmada river. All the personnel will provide the security to the stature of the former home minister and iron man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He was India’s first Home Minister and a role model of unity and statesmanship. The gigantic statue stands on the isle of Sadhu-Bet in River Narmada at Kevadia. This is amid the magnificent Vindhyachal and Satpura Mountain range. The campus of the Statue of Unity is spread over 23 acres with 7 operational gates and one emergency exit, an officer of the force said.

Emulating the political stature of Sardar Patel, it is the tallest statue in the world with a height of 182 meters (597 feet) located in front of the scenic Sardar Sarovar Dam.

“Due to the importance and prominence of the Statue of Unity it is under constant threat from anti-social elements and the sculpture is susceptible to damage including through terrorist activities.”

“The force will provide round-the-clock armed security cover to the Statue of Unity,” a CISF spokesperson said.

Numbers of tourists visit the facility and arm force will control the entry and exit and they also keep the eyes on their bag.

 All the changes have been to keep the security of the gigantic statue of Iron Man.
