UP Board for the first time announces the Pre-Board Exams. This examination shall observe the amount of preparation by students. Over 5 lakh students are expected to take this examination in February 2021.
The Uttar Pradesh government for the first time has decided to arrange and conduct Pre-board examinations. The Examinations will tentatively take place in February 2021. This exam will ensure and monitor students who will be soon appearing for boards in 10th and 12th grade in the same year.
More than 50 lakh (5 Million students approx.) have been preparing themselves for the board exams in 2021. This decision, which was released on 24th August took the students by storm. As they have to prepare for the Pre-board examination as well. Albeit, this is the first time that the UP government will be conducting such an examination. The concerned authorities have begun preparations and training for the upcoming exams.
On 20th July, the syllabus for class 9 to class 12 had been slashed by at least 30%. This was done due to ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic. On 13th August, the UP Board’s Academic Calendar with its tentative schedules regarding academic activities, was released. And finally, The commencement of online classes was done on 18th August as instructed by the Uttar Pradesh Government.
UP Board secretary Divyakant Shukla had ordered over 28,000 schools affiliated to the board to conduct pre-board examination in the tentative third or fourth week of February 2021. This is will done according the UP board’s academic calendar. This examination will be taken to assess the level of preparation done by the UP students. The students just like the rest of the nation have been using online platforms for classes due to the ongoing Pandemic.
Shukla expressed, “teaching work in various classes through online or offline modes will be completed by January 31, 2021. After that the pre-board examination will be conducted”. Prior to this, there was no compulsory pre-board examination for UP Board schools. (Source: HindustanTimes)
