On 10 August, Former President Pranab Mukherjee underwent brain surgery for brain clot at Army Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi.
His health has shown slight improvement but he is still on ventilator support.
“The respiratory parameters of Hon’ble Shri Pranab Mukherjee have shown slight improvement though he continues to be on ventilatory support. His vital and clinical parameters remain stable and are being closely monitored by a team of specialists.”
said The Army Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi.
On Wednesday, Mukherjee’s health condition worsened due to a lung infection. He also tested positive for Covid19. He announced this on his twitter account, “On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for COVID-19 today. I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self isolate and get tested for COVID-19,”
After his brain surgery, He was seen in coma. MP Abhijit Mukherjee said on Wednesday that his father is showing “positive signs of improvement”.
The hospital had said on Tuesday that no change in his health and went on to add that his vital parameters were stable. But he is showing a slight improvement today.
Pranab Mukherjee’s son Abhijit Mukherjee had earlier tweeted: “With All Your good wishes and sincere efforts of the doctors, my father is stable now! His vital parameters continue to remain under control and manageable! Positive signs of his improvement are noticed. I request you all to pray for His speedy recovery!”
Abhijit Mukherjee has been tweeting regular updates on the health of the former President.
On Sunday, asserting that his father “will be back among us soon,” Abhijit Mukherjee had tweeted: “Yesterday, I had visited my father in the hospital. With God’s grace and all your good wishes, he is much better and stable than the preceding days! All his vital parameters are stable and he is responding to treatment! We firmly believe that He will be back among us soon. Thank You.”
Pranab Mukharjee was President of India from 2012-2017. Notably, He was 13th President.
