He received for his music art ,the Padma Shri (1975), Padma Bhushan (1990) and Padma Vibhushan (2000). PM Narendra Modi expressed his condolences and shared on Twitter, “The unfortunate demise of Pandit Jasraj Ji leaves a deep void in the Indian cultural sphere. Not only were his renditions outstanding, but he also made a mark as an exceptional mentor to several other vocalists. Condolences to his family and admirers worldwide. Om Shanti.”
Jasraj imparted music in India, Canada and the US. Some of his students became notable instrumentalists such as violinist Kala Ramnath
Although Jasraj belonged to the Mewati Gharana, a school of music known for its traditional performances of Kayaks. Jasraj had sung kayaks with some flexibility, adding features of lighter styles, including the Thumri. Jasraj created a novel form of Jugalbandi called Jasrangi that is styled on the ancient system of moorchhana, between a male and a female vocalist, who each sing different Ragas at the same time. He was also known for presenting a variety of rare ragas including Abiri Todi and Patdeepaki.
Pandit Jasraj stayed in the US when the country entered its COVID-19 lockdown. He died on 17 August 2020 at 5:15 am EST due to a cardiac arrest, at his home in New Jersey.

We are losing numerous legends in the year 2020 we recently lost Rahat Indori as well.
