Bollywood Director Nishikant Kamat passes away at 50

Nishikant Kamat- The director of movies like Drishyam, passed on due to Liver Cirrhosis, on Monday.

Infamous Bollywood director died on Monday, 17th August. The director suffered from Liver Cirrhosis . Assumingly, it is the cause of his death.

He has directed movies for instance Drishyam, Lai Bhaari, Madaari, Rocky Handsome, etc during his directorship career. The director was admitted on July 31st at AIG Hospitals in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. He underwent treatment for Jaundice and Abdominal Distention according to a report by ANI.

According to NDTV, a week ago, the filmmaker was “critical but stable.” The statement from the hospital read: “He has been diagnosed with chronic liver disease and other secondary infections. He is in the intensive care unit for continuous monitoring under the supervision of a multidisciplinary team of senior consultants comprising of Gastroenterologists, Hepatologists, Critical Care and others. His condition is critical but stable.”

Additionally, a medical bulletin from the hospital claimed that the director, “was on ventilator support and is in a critical condition.” He passed on due to his ongoing Liver Cirrhosis illness on Monday.

Social media condoled and gave tributes to the Director. With several posts on Twitter and Instagram, Bollywood celebrities and netizens put forward their tributes to the versatile director.

Several Bollywood celebrities including Ritiesh Deshmukh tweeted out their condolences to the director and his family.

“My equation with Nishikant was not just about Drishyam, a film which he directed with Tabu and me. It was an association that I cherished. He was bright; ever-smiling. He has gone too soon. RIP Nishikant.” tweeted actor Ajay Devgn.
