Three FIRs have been registered over Aam Aadmi Party’s MP Sanjay Singh for allegedly making lude comments on UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanth. The FIRs have been registered in different districts in the last two days.
Singh is booked under Section 153-A (promoting enmity between different religion) and 505(1)(b) (intent to cause, fear or alarm to the public). The complaints have lodged by the residents of Aligarh, Lakhimpur and Muzaffarnagar.
Singh during the press conference on August 12 stated that people have started calling STF as ‘Special Thakur Force’ which was “killing Brahmins selectively.”
The MP has been accused of “spreading hatred among the public based on caste, and religion”. The complainants alleged Singh tried to “incite various castes of Hindu religion against the state government and violated constitutional dignity too by passing such a statement”.
However, Singh in a Facebook live claimed that he has been receiving threats on his phone and social media after he raised questions on the working of UP govt. Despite the same, he states, “People, including BJP leaders, are trying to suppress my voice by sending such threatening messages. I will not change my statement even after the registration of these three or more FIRs.”
He adds, this is the ‘usual tactic of the Yogi government to harass anyone who dares to raise voice against his government’. He states that the UP government if wanted can arrest and file a thousand cases against him.
