On Wednesday, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said that boycotting every foreign product should not be interpreted as ‘Swadeshi’.
“Mutual cooperation among self-reliant countries while considering the world as one family and not one market, seems to be the economic model required for the post-COVID world”, stated Bhagwat.
At a virtual book launch even on Wednesday, Mohan Bhagwat suggested that same economic model cannot be applied everywhere. As this cataclysm has made the point pretty clear that Globalisation did not yield the desired result.
He emphasised that only those products and technologies should be imported in the country that is not available in India or lacks traditionally. He doesn’t support boycotting all the foreign product.
Bhagwat also enlightens the fact how people overlooked traditionally available products and technology. He states a few examples for the same .There is a need for change in mindset and not considering domestic items as inferior.
Talking about the ‘National Education Policy’ he appreciated the move and described it as “step in the right direction”. He believes that the change in Education Infrastructure will lead India to be self reliant.
He also believes that such positive changes will make India realise the potential of it’s people and traditional wisdom.
Notably, Swadeshi Jagran Manch has been most active in the Boycott China campaign.
