Villagers in Goa Tie Rakhi to Protest against Setting-Up IIT

We always enjoy our festival with each other. It is obvious but the villagers of Melaulim paint the town red unique way by tieing rakhi on the trees in forests to preserve the nature and ecosystem.

We, humans, are very selfish never think and care about the treasure which has given by Mother Nature. This forest land has been allocated for the IIT campus. Villagers entirely depend on the Flora and Fauna of the forest for their livelihood. They expressed their emotions that they want to cooperate in the making of the IIT campus but on another location.

The protest against the IIT campus has been gaining speed since February after it became clear that the government is resolving 10-lakh square meters of land in Melaulim village for the IIT campus.

Three people had been arrested for doing protest GPCC president called a conference in this regard at 4 p.m. “It is a constitutional right of every citizen to express himself no government and police have the power to arrest them this is the complete Dadagiri of this defective government.”

Vishwajeet Rane is misusing the government machinery to impose his decision and the Chief Minister has lost complete control over the administration.

“What happens in Guleli is most unfortunate and a sign of danger it is signal for a dangerous future”, he added.
