Centre government accepted the plea of Bihar government and informed the Supreme Court about the recommendation of handing over the case to CBI.
ANI informed that on the very day when Apex court is hearing the petition of Rhea Chakraborty about seeking the direction for transferring the case from Patna to Mumbai, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta stated before the Supreme Court that Centre has accepted Bihar government’s request recommending CBI enquiry.
The lawyer of Sushant’s father has claimed in the SC that “Maharashtra police is destroying the evidence”. On the consent of K.K Singh, Nitish Kumar requested the Centre to hand over the case to CBI which falls under the Union Home Ministry.
Last week, Bihar police had registered an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty, her family members and others on the charge of abetment to suicide, cheating, criminal breach of trust, criminal intimidation and wrong confinement.
Where as, the Officer of Bihar police who came to Mumbai to investigate Sushant’s death case was put into quarantine by BMC.
“Quarantining of Bihar Police officer has not sent good message despite the fact that Mumbai Police has good professional reputation,” the court said.
According to PTI, Rhea’s lawyer claimed that Bihar has no jurisdiction in the matter thus they cannot interfere. “There cannot be a transfer of the case as there is no legal basis for Bihar to get involved. At most, Bihar Police can register a Zero FIR and transfer it to the Mumbai Police. The transfer of a case on which they had no jurisdiction to the CBI has no legal sanctity,” advocate Satish Maneshinde, lawyer of Rhea, told media persons.
A bench headed by Hrishikesh roy has observed the case.PTI reported, “Truth should come out so far as actor’s death is concerned”,said SC.
