According to government reports, over 4.42 lakhs samples tested in the last 24 hrs. this has been recorded the highest till date. With the total number of samples erupting, private lab tests also touch a new high with 79,878 samples in 24 hrs.
Day by day, with the surge in the numbers of samples collected, positive cases have started to come up. In India, the total no. of coronavirus cases has crossed over 1.39 Mn, with recoveries touching more than 8.86 lakhs. According to Lokesh Sharma, media coordinator at the Indian Council of Medical Research, around 2,00,000 samples were been tested on an average daily for the last 14 days as on July 6, 2020. Taking all together, nearly 1.6 Cr samples are tested taking Tests per Million to 11,485.
With 788 government labs testing 4,42,031 samples and 317 private labs testing 79,878 samples, according to Health and Family Welfare on Sunday. Ministry of Health took to the twitter saying “India records highest-ever more than 4.2 lakh #COVID19 tests in a single day.”
However, the number of samples collected is immense than earlier. It seems to not give the per million reach.
