Chinese COVID-19 Vaccine could be available Earlier than Expected: Reports

Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinopharm developed Covid-19 vaccine is said to be available earlier. The vaccine is in the process of undergoing the final test stage in Abu Dhabi. As per the reports of Reuter, it can be available for public use by the end of 2020.

Stating to the media, Sinopharm has earlier said that the vaccine may not be ready until 2021 as a result of the reduced rate of infection in China due to the difficulty in finding the people to test on. However, China has succeeded in conducting trials abroad.

In the with state broadcaster CCTV, Sinopharm Chairman Liu Jingzhen stated that the company is expecting to finish its last stage human testing within three months.

This month, the company has risen 15,000 volunteers for its third phase clinical trials in Abu Dhabi. However, another potential vaccine developer, Sinovac Biotech is also in its final stage trail in Brazil. Another vaccine developed by Oxford University and pharma firm AstraZeneca is also in its third phase testing trail in Brazil.

Brazil has now over 2.23 Mn positive cases from which, 1.53 Mn has been recovered. The British medical journal, The Lancet, said that the studies published on Monday found that Oxford developed vaccine is safe and produced an immune response in early-stage trails.
