On Thursday, police arrested more than 149 people and impounded 30 vehicles in Noida. Under the Indian Penal Code 188 and Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) Section 144, the FIRs were registered for the disobedience to order promulgated by public servant over the violation of the lockdown and also the section which bars assembly of the four or more persons, respectively.
On the same, the police said in a statement, “Seven FIRs were registered on Thursday for lockdown violations and 149 people arrested. A total of 445 vehicles were checked across 132 barrier points in the district and challans issued to 200 of them, while another 30 were impounded.”
Furthermore, in Gautam Budh Nagar, Police extended the restrictions imposed in the district under the CrPC section 144. In a statement, it said that over a dozen localities have been completely sealed off due to the coronavirus outbreak.
